Letter Bay (ب) Sound & Shape
Start by watching a short video together. Seeing and hearing ب modelled first gives your child a reference point before any activity begins.
2 Colour

Frequently Asked Questions
How is Bay different from Pay, Tay, and Say if they look so similar?
Bay, Pay, Tay, and Say all share the same underlying dish shape — the only difference is the number and position of dots. Bay has one dot below; Pay has three dots below; Tay has two dots above; Say has three dots above. Pointing out the dots explicitly, rather than the shape, is the fastest way for a child to tell them apart.
Will my child need to learn different shapes of Bay later on?
Eventually, yes — like most joining Urdu letters, Bay takes a slightly different form depending on its position in a word. That’s a later reading-stage skill, though; right now, tracing and recognising the standalone form is exactly the right starting point.
My child knows ب's shape but not its sound — is that normal?
Yes, very common. Letter naming and letter sound are separate skills. Go back to the Connect the Sound step and add verbal drilling a few times a day until it becomes automatic.
