About This Worksheet
Each page shows the target number in large print with its number word, followed by rows of coloured stars. Some stars show the target number and others show close neighbours, such as 6 and 7 on the page for 6, so your child has to look carefully before circling.
The teen pages mix in numbers that look alike, such as 11 and 12 or 16 and 17, which makes them a good check once your child knows numbers 1 to 10. Work through them in order, or pick out the numbers your child finds tricky.
Skills Your Child Practises
- Recognising numbers 1 to 20
- Reading number words from one to twenty
- Telling apart numbers that look alike

What age are these worksheets for?
Ages 3–6. Start with numbers 1 to 10 and move on to 11 to 20 when your child is ready.
How does each page work?
Your child reads the target number at the top, then circles every star that shows it. The other stars show nearby numbers.
Why are the teen numbers harder?
Numbers such as 11, 12 and 17 share the digit 1 and look alike, so children need to look at both digits.
How many pages should we do a day?
One to three pages is plenty. Short, regular practice works better than long sessions.
