About This Worksheet
6 is the first number in the series built from a curve, using the curve strokes practised in Weeks 1 to 3. Page 1 gives a full page of 6s so your child can practise starting at the top and curving round into a closed loop.
Page 2 pairs 4 and 6, and page 3 mixes 1, 7, 4 and 6 in one row. Each row starts with a model number on a maths block grid.
Skills Your Child Practises

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is 6 taught before 2, 3 and 5?
6 starts with a simple curve and closes into a loop, which follows on well from the curve strokes in Weeks 1–3.
My child's 6 does not close at the bottom. What helps?
Trace the shape in the air or with a finger first, and remind them to finish where the curve meets.
Do we need to master all four numbers before Week 7?
6 should feel comfortable. If 1, 7 or 4 still cause trouble, repeat the mixed page.
What comes after Week 6?
Week 7 practises 2 and 3, which use more curved strokes.
