About This Worksheet
0 is a simple closed oval, but children often draw it too narrow, too wide or with a gap at the top. This worksheet gives 0 the dedicated practice it has not had elsewhere in the series. The second part writes 10, combining that same 0 with the number 1 your child first practised in Week 4.
Both pages use a maths block notebook layout, so each number sits inside its own box and your child learns to keep numbers a consistent size. As the final worksheet in the series, it brings together the progression from dot-guided tracing in Week 1 to confident, independent number writing, including forming and spacing a two-digit number.
Skills Your Child Practises
- Drawing a consistently shaped, fully closed 0
- Combining a known number (1) with a new one (0) to write 10
- Spacing two digits correctly side by side
- Reviewing and consolidating the full number-writing progression
How to Use This Worksheet
- Start with 0 and check that each oval closes fully without a gap.
- Compare the 0s across the row for a similar size, not just correct closure.
- Move to 10 and remind your child it joins the 1 from Week 4 with the 0 they just practised.
- Check the spacing so the 1 and 0 do not touch or sit too far apart.
- When finished, look back at a Week 1 worksheet together to see how far their writing has come.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is 0 saved for the last worksheet in the series?
0 has not had its own practice page earlier in the series, so it is paired here with 10, the first two-digit number, to close out the progression.
My child draws 0 as a circle rather than an oval. Does that matter?
Not much at this age. A rounded, fully closed shape matters most; a neater oval develops with more handwriting practice over time.
What should we practise after finishing Week 11?
Keep up regular number writing with the Number Tracing Worksheets (0–10), or move on to counting worksheets such as Number and Picture Counting (1 to 20).
Do we need to repeat earlier weeks before finishing the series?
Only if a specific number is still consistently difficult. Otherwise, completing Week 11 means your child has finished the Number Writing Week Series.
